We are looking for a senior SAP Architect for our Telco client, based in Bratislava
Location: Bratislava (60% remote)
Contract: FTE/Freelance
Start: September 1st 2025
Salary/MD: between 400 - 500 EUR (based on skills and experience)
The SAP Architect will play a critical role in the transformation program, driving the design and implementation of complex SAP solutions within the organization. The architect will ensure that SAP systems are integrated across different platforms and technologies, optimizing the architecture for enhanced performance, scalability, and security. The role also includes providing strategic guidance on the modernization of the SAP ecosystem and managing the transition to S/4HANA or cloud environments.
This is a strategic position that will require a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strong collaboration skills, as the SAP Architect will work closely with various teams, including business stakeholders, IT development teams, and external partners, to ensure alignment with the overall transformation vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. SAP Architecture Design & Optimization:
- Design and define end-to-end SAP system architecture based on the company’s business requirements, future scalability, and technological capabilities.
- Lead the integration of SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW) with external applications, platforms, and business-critical tools, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
- Continuously analyze and optimize SAP processes to ensure they are running with maximum efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Drive the transformation from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based SAP environments while reducing complexity and improving operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to develop solutions that support both operational and strategic goals.
2. Strategic Consulting and Transformation Support:
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership and IT teams regarding SAP-related innovations and strategic technology initiatives.
- Analyze current systems and recommend improvements for streamlining processes and upgrading SAP infrastructure, in alignment with the broader program goals.
- Lead the strategic transition to SAP S/4HANA and cloud technologies, ensuring that architecture is future-proof and capable of adapting to future business needs and trends.
- Contribute to the development of transformation roadmaps, ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the SAP ecosystem within the organization.
3. Leadership and Team Collaboration:
- Lead and manage collaboration between cross-functional teams (SAP development, infrastructure, integration, and business process teams) to ensure timely delivery of SAP solutions.
- Act as a technical mentor and provide guidance on best practices in SAP architecture and implementation.
- Define clear architectural principles and ensure they are adhered to during the implementation of new solutions.
- Lead reviews and workshops with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
4. Solution Implementation & Testing:
- Work closely with project managers and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of SAP solutions within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Oversee and participate in testing efforts for new SAP implementations, ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and comply with the defined architecture standards.
- Provide input into the continuous improvement of SAP solutions by identifying gaps and proposing enhancements.
- Ensure proper documentation of implemented solutions for ongoing maintenance and future upgrades.
5. Risk Management & Process Improvement:
- Proactively identify risks related to SAP system architecture, integrations, and implementations, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on existing systems and infrastructure, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Drive process improvements within the SAP ecosystem to enhance agility, efficiency, and user satisfaction across business functions.
- Evaluate and improve SAP system performance continuously, focusing on driving innovation and minimizing technical debt.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant SAP certifications (SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud, etc.) preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as an SAP Architect, with hands-on expertise in system architecture, design, and integration for large-scale enterprises.
- Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, and Fiori implementations.
- Experience in leading SAP transformation projects, including migration to cloud platforms and S/4HANA.
- Demonstrated ability to design and integrate complex SAP solutions and applications across various business functions and external platforms.
- Previous experience working in a similar industry (telecom, large-scale enterprise) is highly desirable.
