We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a strategic Digital Euro Pilot initiative within a leading international banking environment. You will play a key role in defining the target architecture for Digital Euro integration, connecting Core Banking Systems with modern payment infrastructures across multiple countries.
Your Responsibilities
- Define the target architecture for the Digital Euro Pilot in collaboration with Enterprise Architects.
- Design integration architectures between Digital Euro components and Core Banking Systems.
- Develop API-first, event-driven, and cloud-native integration concepts.
- Design interfaces to payment platforms, settlement systems, liquidity management, customer channels, and operational services.
- Assess the impact on existing payment processes and banking infrastructure.
- Evaluate Digital Euro platforms, vendors, and implementation approaches.
- Lead architecture workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
- Prepare architectural recommendations and decision papers for senior management.
- Identify architecture risks, dependencies, and implementation roadmaps.
- Support multi-country deployment strategies across an international banking group.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect.
- Strong background in banking and financial services.
- Hands-on experience with Core Banking Systems (e.g. Temenos, Avaloq, SAP Banking, Finacle, Hogan or similar).
- Deep understanding of payment architectures and payment processing ecosystems.
- Experience designing large-scale integration architectures in complex banking environments.
- Strong knowledge of API-first architectures, microservices, event-driven integration patterns, and cloud-native solutions.
- Experience with banking regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Experience working in international and multi-entity organizations.
Preferred Experience
- Deep understanding of payment domains including SEPA, Instant Payments, Cards, Open Banking, and Request-to-Pay.
- Experience with ISO 20022 payment standards (pain, pacs, camt).
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX messaging and cross-border payments.
- Experience with TARGET Services (T2/TARGET2, TIPS).
- Experience integrating payment hubs and Core Banking platforms.
- Knowledge of liquidity management, settlement, reconciliation, and high-volume payment processing.
- Previous experience with CBDC, Digital Euro, or Central Bank Digital Currency initiatives is highly desirable.
- Understanding of ECB Digital Euro architecture concepts is an advantage.
